The Initiative
What is ICIM Research
ICIM Research is a research and methodology initiative dedicated to developing the field of Computational Integrative Medicine (CIM) — an emerging interdisciplinary direction focused on longitudinal, real-world, system-driven health management and evidence generation for complex chronic health conditions.
CIM is the field. ICIM Research is the initiative building it.
Our work spans three interconnected domains:
Methodology
We develop the methodological frameworks that define how complex health conditions can be studied, managed, and understood.
Infrastructure
We build AEGIS, the operational infrastructure that implements these frameworks in real-world settings.
Research
We conduct real-world studies that generate evidence, validate methodology, and advance understanding.
ICIM Research is not a clinical service provider, not a software company, and not a healthcare product. It is a research and methodology platform — closer in nature to a research institute than to a commercial enterprise.
Origin
Why This Work Exists
This work began with a practical observation: children with complex neurodevelopmental conditions — conditions involving multiple interacting biological, behavioral, and environmental factors — were not well served by conventional medical frameworks optimized for acute, single-system diseases.
These children needed longitudinal, multi-dimensional health management that could track trajectories over months and years, integrate data from multiple domains, adapt decisions based on evolving conditions, and learn from accumulated experience. No existing system provided this.
Building that system required more than technology. It required methodology — new frameworks for collecting, structuring, modeling, and learning from real-world health data over time. And it required infrastructure — operational systems that could run continuously, support adaptive management, and generate evidence from practice.
What started as a practical need evolved into a broader recognition: the methodological and infrastructure challenges were not unique to any one condition. They were shared across the entire class of complex, chronic, multi-system health problems. This recognition led to the definition of Computational Integrative Medicine as a field.
Vision
Long-term Vision
Our long-term vision is the establishment of Computational Integrative Medicine as a recognized interdisciplinary field with:
A mature methodology framework that provides rigorous, validated approaches for studying and managing complex health conditions.
A robust infrastructure ecosystem that makes longitudinal, system-driven health management accessible to clinical and research institutions worldwide.
A growing body of real-world evidence that demonstrates the value of computational, longitudinal approaches to complex health challenges.
An active international collaboration network of hospitals, universities, and research institutions jointly advancing the field.
We are in the early stages of this work. The methodology framework is taking shape. The infrastructure is being built. The first research programs are beginning. The collaboration network is forming. This is a long-term endeavor — measured in years and decades.
